Letter from the Dean of Students
Dear Parents and Students,
Welcome to the 2016-2017 school year at Holy Angels! I am looking forward to beginning this school year and cannot wait to see what amazing things our students will accomplish.
The Dean of Students’ office is responsible for many day-to-day facets of life at Holy Angels, such as keeping attendance records, safety and security, and working alongside the Athletic Director to oversee our athletic program. The Dean’s office is also responsible for aspects of student life outside of the classroom, such as supervising over 90 different clubs or activities where our students can challenge themselves to try something new, learn how to become a leader, or practice a new skill just for fun. While lessons in the classroom are very important, at Holy Angels, we want our students to have every opportunity to be well rounded and by offering this vast array of clubs and activities, the girls are bound to find something that speaks to them.
Last year, the members of our athletic program had a very successful and exciting year, proving that hard work, passion, and dedication can lead to outstanding success. Among the many accomplishments of our athletes, both as members of a team and individually, we had league and county champions, all-league, county and state recognition and our basketball team helped Coach Sue Liddy reach 700 wins! While achieving these impressive acknowledgements, our student athletes always maintained a high level of respect toward their competitors and the officials, and showed that the AHA core values are present in the gym and on the field, as well as in the classroom.
The Academy of the Holy Angels is a place where young ladies learn to be empowered and resilient; where they create long-lasting friendships and where, with hard work and determination, they overcome obstacles and achieve success. Our mission is to educate the whole person. We want our students to be academically successful but also strong, happy, and compassionate persons. Each day, we integrate the teachings of the School Sisters of Notre Dame into our lessons and programs and hope that our students take these teachings out into the world with them, never forgetting that they will always have a home at Holy Angels.
