Office of Academic and College Counseling
Welcome!
We are sincerely invested in helping all students reach their academic, social and emotional potential. The mission of the OACC is to play an integral role in supporting the individual care and academic development of each student. The two primary services offered by the OACC are Academic and College Counseling. Our approach is multifaceted and supports the academic, college preparation, social and emotional development of each student.
Through our comprehensive Academic and College Counseling program each student is assigned an OACC Counselor throughout all four years of high school. OACC Counselors work collaboratively with the entire faculty to meet the needs of each individual. Students can expect OACC counselors to provide exceptional guidance to promote growth of the student to reach their fullest potential, enhance the learning experiences, and successfully navigate the college process.
We strive to assist students in making decisions that affect their education and we create opportunities that will enable them to excel in the classroom and beyond. The OACC offers academic counseling that deals with the practical needs of the student: study skills, student/teacher relationships, course selection, peer relationships, career information, testing, and college selection.
Critical to our mission is the collaboration among all counselors, the school social worker, teachers, administrators, students, parents/guardians, and community resources. Ultimately, we help students successfully navigate the high school years and graduate with a strategic plan that will guide them to a successful transition into their post-secondary education.
