Michelle is an accomplished flutist who was named to the All-State Band and the North Jersey Regional Band, and had the honor of performing “An American Christmas Carol” at Carnegie Hall with world-class musician James Galway. Michelle studied at the Manhattan School of Music’s Pre-college Division and shared her talent by participating in the AHA Orchestra and the Spring Musical Pit Orchestra. Before her graduation from AHA, she took a rigorous AP course load and emerged as an AP Scholar with Honor and will be well prepared this fall as she begins her studies at the University of Pennsylvania. She was also a National Merit Semi-Finalist in 2015 and earned the Silver Medal for her score on the National French Exam the same year. Her honors include membership in the Mu Alpha Theta Math Honor Society, the National Honor Society, the French Honor Society, and the Rho Kappa History Honor Society. She served on the executive board of the Academy Orchestra and was president of the Tri-M Music Honor Society. Michelle spent her summers studying in Germany and Austria, attending the New Jersey Governor’s School of Engineering & Technology, and participating in the Yale Young Global Scholars Program in Science.
