Olivia discovered her passion for serving others through her leadership roles in AHA clubs, including Project Greenhouse, an initiative that provides school-grown produce to people in need, and JOY (Joining Young and Old). She is also serving others as a Eucharistic Minister, having been commissioned at the recent Feast Day Mass. In addition, she says AHA’s focus on interdisciplinary studies has allowed her to pursue her love for the social and natural sciences. Olivia challenges herself with a full course-load of Advanced Placement classes, and has received multiple honors, including the Bausch & Lomb Science Award, the President’s Volunteer Service Award, and the Sister Catherine Green Kindness Award. Olivia is a National Merit Scholarship Commended Student and a member of several honor societies, including the National Honor Society. Outside the walls of AHA, Olivia volunteers at a nursing home and participates in the Youth Ministry at her church. She loves to dance, and studies ballet, jazz, and hip hop. This summer, she took part in AHA’s Study Abroad trip to Germany and Austria. The previous summer, Olivia attended the Georgetown University International Relations Institute.
“AHA is a loving and supporting community. Students are willing to help each other when their classmate is upset or struggling with schoolwork. I have seen a special bond grow between classmates here.”
