AHA Blog: A tribute to the Class of ’23

Four years passed by in the blink of an eye. In a few short weeks, the Class of ’23 will leave Holy Angels ready to take on the challenges of college.

What will our seniors miss most about AHA? What will faculty members miss about this special group?

Read on.

A few things seniors will miss:

“Lifelong friendships made at Holy Angels. I will also miss Field Day, Christmas parties, and the potatoes.” – Keira Footer

“Choir. Mrs. Marciano is the best!” – Grace Costanza

“All the supportive faculty members of AHA! I really could have not had a better high school experience, and it’s all thanks to AHA community members who made my time here truly special and meaningful.” – Faith Youn

“Being with my friends every day because I know we will not be able to see each other as often next year as we will slowly begin moving on. I will miss going to Starbucks every Friday and just enjoying (each other’s) presence while we talk about our days.” – Alexis Mysliwiec

“Hanging out with my friends during community time! – Anna Governale

“Being able to hang out with my amazing friends every day and constantly make each other laugh.” – Kathryn Fragola

“Mr. Sanchez’s AP Physics I class.” – Ella Springer

“Spending time with my friends and talking to them about my favorite things and doing lots of activities.” – Samma Gaafer

“One of the things that I will miss the most is the energetic and supportive all-girl environment that only AHA can provide. We, as a class, encouraged each other to work the hardest both academically and personally. I will always have an appreciation for my friends who helped and supported me through both the good times and bad.” — Liana Powley

Some Angels were thinking about the Student Commons. Alexis Jacob will miss the lemon water (AHA’s signature beverage). For Fiona Coyle, it’s the lo mein. Anna Jang had Chef Russell’s sugar cookies in mind.

What faculty and staff will miss about the seniors:

Registrar Angela Kunz: “Reilly Guy and Reese Orlofsky, the senior members of Angels for Veterans. They spread joy and want to do so much for our men and women who have served our country. They have taken the time to learn about the issues facing them and worked on ways to help them. My seniors are amazing in what they want to do to help veterans and do so with joy that is infectious.”

Religious studies teacher AnneMarie Ryan will miss “their vivaciousness and class spirit, and their willingness to listen.”

AHA English Department Chair Nancy Schneberger: Their excitement about learning. “I’ll always remember our field trip to New York City and the class on the roof of the cathedral of Saint John the Divine. And later our bonding over pastry at the Hungarian Pastry Shop!”

Science teacher Patricia Prucnel: “I will miss their wide smiles and their sense of humor.”

AHA Social Studies Department Chair Gail Fair: “I think I will miss their enthusiasm and generosity during our Rho Kappa Pennies for Puerto Rico and Campus Ministry shoe drive. Not only did they win the spirit points, but they showed how much they cared about these two causes.”
