Vocal
Students in the AHA vocal music program have been awarded vocal scholarships to many colleges, and have been accepted into such prestigious music schools such as Manhattan School of Music and The Peabody Conservatory. In past years, they have also won the Bergen County Music Educators Vocal Scholarship and represented AHA at the All-County Music Festival.
Seraphima
This highly selective group performs acappella and is made up of 24-26 students. They perform at both annual concerts but also are involved in musical community activities and sing at the AHA graduation.
Academy Concert Choir
This vocal group is open to all singers. Proper vocal technique is stressed and correlation between good vocal health and overall well-being is constantly addressed. The repertoire of the Academy Concert Choir incorporates standard choral literature, world, pop, musical theatre, classical, jazz and gospel. This group performs at the Christmas and the Spring Concert. They were invited to perform at Lincoln Center with choirs from all over the US with Choirs of America. The Choir is greatly enhanced by all of those who participate.
Middle School Choir
At the Middle School, our choir sings at the Christmas and Spring concerts, as well as for Middle School Graduation and other prayer services throughout the school year. The choir is open to all students in grades 6, 7, and 8. Believing that “Music is well said to be the speech of angels.” (Thomas Carlyle) Our angels learn proper vocal technique, breath control, and more during rehearsals and have a fun time while learning.
