B.A., Montclair State University

 

While pursuing his degree in music education, Andrew Monticello studied orchestral conducting with renowned conductors, such as Gerard Schwarz (Eastern Music Festival/Seattle Symphony), Markand Thakar (Baltimore Chamber Orchestra/Peabody Conservatory), and Ken Lam (Charleston Symphony Orchestra/Illinois Symphony Orchestra). He was recently accepted as a fellow in the Baltimore Chamber Orchestra Conducting Workshop, where he conducted works by Beethoven, Brahms, Schubert, and Stravinsky. At AHA, he teaches the Academy Orchestra, Chamber Orchestra, Jazz Ensemble, AP Music Theory, instrumental music lessons, and piano performance. He is also director of music at The Church of St. Mary, where he directs the Chancel Choir and accompanies the on organ and piano.
