Reviews From Students, Parents & Alumnae

We’re dedicated to helping young women reach their full potential as creative thinkers, passionate leaders, and ambassadors of faith. Here are some of the kind words left by current and former students about their experiences with The Academy of the Holy Angels.

“Holy Angels inspires me through the dedication of the teachers, who ensure that their students are able to fully devote themselves to their education and passions inside and outside of the classroom.”

– Isabella Zahirudin, AHA ‘25.

“I love how Holy Angels has such a welcoming student body. Everyone is willing to help each other when they can, and many are very passionate about this. There are so many people who come from such different walks of life, and each person integrates these unique aspects of their lives into the kind ways they interact with others. I find it so endearing to see people in my classes go out of their way to help other students when it is unasked of them, demonstrating how selfless and considerate the AHA community is as a whole.”

– Alana Jones, AHA ’25.

“Families choose Holy Angels because they understand that their daughters ask different questions about themselves and the world. The all-girl setting allows students to focus on themselves and develop confidence…Angels now. Angels always. My closest friends in life are my lunch table friends from Holy Angels.”

– Katherine Polk Failla, J.D. AHA ’87

One of the aspects I value most about Holy Angels is the close-knit, supportive relationship students form with the administrators, teachers, and staff. The entire staff goes above and beyond to provide individual, personal attention to each student, ensuring their academic as well as their social emotional needs are met. Whether it’s offering one-on-one guidance during community time or supporting extracurricular passions, the dedication and genuine care from the staff create an environment where students feel seen, valued, and confident. When it came time for my girls to obtain recommendation letters for college, the teachers whom they asked truly knew them as students and as people, and I have no doubt those letters spoke to my girls’ strengths, their character, and their growth over four years of high school.  I honestly can’t say enough good things about every single person who works at Holy Angels!  I am incredibly grateful to all of them for inspiring my girls to grow into the people they are today.

My daughter participated in two Angels Advantage programs this summer. One with an alumna at Apple and the other with an Alumna at Columbia University Climate School’s Lamont-Doherty Earth Observatory. Both experiences were truly inspiring for her. Not only are both AHA graduates very highly educated and accomplished, but their thoughtful interest in my daughter and her aspirations was simply impressive. Thank you for making these opportunities available to AHA students. It was such a thrill for my daughter to speak with alumnae in a field in which she may be interested in working someday. To receive first-hand knowledge and advice from caring alumnae was very special. Both women are a credit to their fields, and making time for high school students and showing genuine interest in them was quite impactful.
– Lisa Boncaldo, Parent to Alessandra Boncaldo ’25

I wanted both of my daughters to come to AHA because I wanted them to have the kind of high school experience that would empower them to believe in themselves and that anything was possible for them. I believe that AHA is a unique place that provides an education for life.

– Carmen Quiñones, AHA Dean of Academics and Parent

I think the opportunity to study critical thinking and public speaking at Oxford in a study abroad program tailor-made for Holy Angels is one of the contributing reasons students decide to attend our school. Oxford is arguably the best university in the world, and Oxford Study Abroad Program participants get the chance to experience university life during their stay in England. In our spare time, we visit cultural attractions and have a lot of fun, too!

– Nancy Schneberger, Oxford Study Abroad Director
