AHA Senior Sophia Lee Wins Prestigious National Merit® Scholarship
The Academy of the Holy Angels is proud to announce that senior Sophia Lee has been named a 2025 National Merit Scholarship® winner. Sophia is one of only 770 students nationwide to receive a corporate-sponsored National Merit Scholarship. Sponsored by PepsiCo, this award recognizes her exceptional academic achievements, leadership, and future potential.
These highly competitive scholarships are presented to students who not only meet rigorous academic standards but also demonstrate extraordinary promise for success in higher education and beyond. Sophia’s selection is a testament to her dedication, intellect, and impact both in and out of the classroom.
Sophia is one of three National Merit Finalists in the AHA Class of 2025. She is joined by classmates Alessandra Boncaldo and Julianna Dail, whose recognitions further underscore Holy Angels’ tradition of academic excellence.
This fall, Sophia will attend Brown University, where she plans to double major in Applied Mathematics and Economics and compete on the university’s Division I fencing team.
A well-rounded and high-achieving student, Sophia is a nationally ranked fencer, a lead teen partner with the Glomerular Learning Network at CHOP, and an intern with Athena Consulting Partners, where she contributes to market research, financial modeling, and industry analysis. At Holy Angels, she has excelled as a Senior Angel Ambassador, a three-time DECA state qualifier, and a National Spanish Exam medalist.
Sophia’s accomplishments are a powerful reflection of the Academy of the Holy Angels’ mission to educate women of integrity, vision, and purpose. The AHA community congratulates Sophia on this outstanding achievement and looks forward to her continued success.
