Bullying Survivor to Speak at AHA
Jodee Blanco, author of The New York Times best-seller “Please Stop Laughing at Me,” will speak at the Academy of the Holy Angels on Tuesday, October 31, from 11:45 to 12:45. AHA parents are invited to Blanco’s seminar, “It’s NOT Just Joking Around,” which focuses on bullying survival and prevention.

Blanco will share her personal struggle as a target of severe bullying, and information about how to intervene with a victim, bully, or bystander. She will highlight which techniques are helpful, and why. The author will also cover ways adult survivors can overcome the past. Attendees will have an opportunity to speak with Blanco after her presentation.
“We encourage you to attend for what promises to be a meaningful, moving, and informative session,” said AHA Upper School Principal Jean Miller.
Blanco will also be speaking Academy of Our Lady of Grace, 400 Kamena Street in Fairview. This school has graciously AHA parents the opportunity to attend their session, which will be held on Friday, November 3, at 6:00 p.m.
Blanco is the author of multiple critically acclaimed books on bullying. She has shared her life-saving story with tens of thousands of students, teachers, and parents worldwide.
