Gina Certo Named Big North Conference Athlete of the Year

Holy Angels is proud to celebrate Gina Certo ’25, who has been named the Big North Conference Girls Track & Field Athlete of the Year. A standout sprinter and dedicated student-athlete, Gina closed out her senior season with remarkable performances and a reputation as one of the state’s top competitors.

Specializing in the 200m and 400m dash, Gina consistently delivered elite times that earned her state-wide recognition. She recorded a season-best 54.89 in the 400m, ranking her No. 7 in New Jersey and securing 4th place at the prestigious NJSIAA Meet of Champions. In the 200m, she clocked a personal best of 24.62, finishing the season ranked 17th in the state and placing 10th at the Meet of Champions.

Her speed, strength, and determination on the track were matched by her leadership and sportsmanship off of it, making her a role model for younger athletes and a source of pride for the Holy Angels community.

This fall, Gina will continue her academic and athletic journey at Boston College, where she will compete as a member of the Division I track & field team.
