Nominations for Metro & bergenPAC High School Awards Society Opens Doors to 71 Holy Angels Students
Those associated with Holy Angels’ award-winning theater program are currently enjoying limelight of another type. This month, the Academy’s production of “Twelfth Night the Musical” garnered multiple nominations for Metropolitan High School Theater Awards AND the inaugural season of bergenPAC High School Musical Awards.
AHA Theater Director Katie Collins announced that AHA received the following Metro Award nominations:
Eva Zazzali (’25) of Saddle River captured the nomination for Outstanding Female Acting Performance for her portrayal of Viola.
Jack Laux of Saint Joseph Regional High (and brother of AHA alumna Carol Laux ’21) was nominated for Outstanding Male Acting Performance as Malvolio.
Nora Giannantonio (’25) of Emerson, who played Feste, is up for Outstanding Female Vocal Performance.
Eva Zazzali and Valentina Gonzalez (’25) of Lodi performed a rendition of “I Am She” that earned the Outstanding Duet nomination.
Thomas Snyder of Saint Joseph Regional is up for Outstanding Supporting Actor for stepping into the role of Sir Toby Belch.
George Croom received a nomination for Outstanding Music Direction.
The production also garnered a nomination for Outstanding Performance by a Chorus.
Collins also announced the following bergenPAC nominations:
Eva Zazzali earned the nomination for Outstanding Lead Actress.
Jack Laux was nominated for Outstanding Supporting Actor.
Caitlin Liau (’26) of Tenafly was nominated for Outstanding Ensemble Member.
The entire cast drew the nomination for Outstanding Ensemble. Cast members include Eva Zazzali, Valentina Gonzalez, Joseph Lizzi (SJR), Nora Giannantonio, Jack Laux (SJR), Thomas Snyder (SJR), Shivani Sahu, Jeffrey Guneratine (SJR), Nicholas Pantano (SJR), Zuzu Hill (Emerson), Jaden Sabathia, Victoria Velasco, Caroline Ko, Ellie Finnegan, Lilianna Garber, Alyssa Finch, Caitlin Liau, Mia Diaz, Gabrielle Fontana, and Alexandra Fontana.
Saint Joseph’s Regional High School hosted the AHA Spring Musical this year, while the AHA auditorium renovation was in its final stages.
Winners of the Metro and bergenPAC awards will be announced in the coming weeks.
Founded by the School Sisters of Notre Dame in 1879, the Academy of the Holy Angels is the oldest private girls’ school in Bergen County.
