Meet Angelina
Angelina (’25) is an international golfing star. In the spring of 2023, Angelina was a key contributor to the AHA Varsity Golf Team’s first state championship. That historic win followed the team’s Bergen County and Big North Tournament titles. Over the summer, the team went on to finish third in the National High School Invitational, where Angelina earned a second place finish as an individual. Angelina, who was named Most Valuable Player in both of the past two years, also led AHA to Team of the Year honors.
Angelina was already a seasoned golfer when she entered AHA. She started playing at age six, and participated in her first competition at age nine. Her many successes in 2023 include earning the NJPGA Junior Section Championship, the Girls PGA Junior Championship, the AJGA KJ Choi Foundation Junior Championship, first place in 18-hole stroke play at the New Jersey Girls Junior Championship, and a ninth place finish in USGA Women’s Fourball. Angelina also participated in the AJGA’s Dominican Junior Open and Panama Junior Open. She was nominated for NJ.com Golfer of the Year honors.
She participated in the 2022 All Star Invitational by Adidas and the 2021 AJGA Pronghorn Junior All Star Invitational. In addition, she qualified for two USGA events, and earned the 2021 All Star Firewheel. Previously, she played her way to a UHY Prep Series New York Championship.
Angelina, who is also an accomplished swimmer, earned four gold medals in the 18th Korean American National Sport. This competition was held in Washington, D.C. in 2015.
This Angel also competes with AHA DECA, an organization that encourages entrepreneurship and leadership in business. Her varied interests led her to get involved with the MEDS Club, where Angels explore careers in medicine; Angels for Veterans, which recently held a school-wide walkathon to help train service dogs; and AHA Voice, the Academy’s student newspaper.
Angelina earned AHA’s Mother Caroline Scholarship, and is a regular on the Principal’s List, an honor reserved for students with top GPAs. She is a member of Mu Alpha Theta (the national math honor society) and the Spanish Honor Society. Angelina’s work on the National Spanish Exam has already netted her bronze and silver medals.
So far, Angelina has successfully completed Advanced Placement courses in U.S. History II, calculus, and physics. She is currently taking AP Macroeconomics, high honors English, and honors Spanish.

- She loves traveling around the world to compete in golf tournaments. One of her most memorable vacation spots is Panama City, Panama.
- Angelina’s all-time favorite food is sushi. At AHA, she is a fan of the wraps.
