Fine Arts
Discover why AHA is a magnet school for fine artists. Our Fine Arts program inspires students to find confidence in their creativity, celebrate individuality, and embrace the belief that every Angel has unlimited potential. In courses ranging from painting, drawing, design, photography, and sculpture to digital media, students explore both traditional and experimental techniques while developing critical thinking, creative problem-solving, and personal expression. Studio classes combine individual instruction with group critiques, encouraging students to grow as artists and collaborators.
Through research, discussion, and reflection on historical influences, students gain a deeper understanding of the relationship between contemporary culture and the art of the past. In addition, our digital Mac Lab equips students with the same programs and tools used by professionals, giving them opportunities to create 3-D landscapes, architectural renderings, and original digital artwork.
Over four years of study, Angels produce competitive portfolios that prepare them for scholarships, awards, and admission into prestigious art programs. Many AHA graduates continue their artistic journeys and pursue successful careers in architecture, fine art, art direction, and museum professions. For those seeking college-level academic challenge, the department also offers AP Studio Art, AP Studio Art 2-D Design, and AP Art History.
Holy Angels is proud of its strong history of award-winning artists, with many students achieving regional and national recognition for their work each year. This tradition of excellence continues to inspire and encourage the next generation of Angels to pursue their creative passions with confidence.

The National Art Education Association launched NAHS in 1978 to inspire and recognize high school students who demonstrate an outstanding ability and interest in art. NAHS encourages members to attain the highest standards in art scholarship, character, and service, and bring art education to the attention of the school and community. AHA’s chapter is a service-driven organization for students in Grades 11 and 12. Projects include curating and installing winter and spring art shows at the Academy.
