Practically Perfect: AHA’s First Middle School Musical Takes Flight with Mary Poppins Jr
The Academy of the Holy Angels proudly debuted its first-ever middle school musical this spring with Mary Poppins Jr., directed by AHA alumna Emily Stanzione and choreographed by Mario Rizzi. This whimsical production brought together a dedicated and enthusiastic group of young performers who lit up the stage with heart, humor, and harmony.
“Theatre is more than an extracurricular. It is a space to be seen, to be heard, and to grow,” shared Stanzione. “Mary Poppins reminds us that joy and connection can transform lives, and that anything can happen if you let it.”
The cast captivated audiences with classic musical numbers like “Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious” and “Let’s Go Fly a Kite,” while learning the value of teamwork, self-expression, and storytelling along the way.
“Watching this cast grow, take risks, and support each other has been the most rewarding part of this journey,” added Rizzi, making his choreographic debut at Holy Angels.
With applause and pride, Holy Angels’ first middle school musical closed on a high note, proving that with imagination, teamwork, and a touch of Mary Poppins magic, anything can happen if you let it.
